The Chicago Bears had high hopes this season. They had the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft after going 3-14. However, the team gave Justin Fields another year as the starting quarterback.
Chicago traded the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers for DJ Moore and a treasure chest full of draft capital. The Panthers selected Bryce Young, while the Bears got a Pro Bowl star wide receiver and a top-10 pick to use on an offensive tackle.
While the team rallied at the end of the season, Chicago still finished last in the NFC North division with a 7-10 record.

What Draft Picks Do The Chicago Bears Own?
The Bears have six draft picks before the NFL awards 32 compensatory picks during the offseason. Chicago’s first-round pick is ninth overall. However, they also have the top overall selection from the Panthers.
Over the next few months, all the talk on social media will be about that top pick. Should the Bears give Fields another year under center, or is it time to draft his replacement?
Meanwhile, they don’t have a second-round draft pick because of their trade deadline deal with the Washington Commanders for Montez Sweat. Chicago has a third-round pick, two fourth-round selections, and a fifth-rounder.
Who Could The Chicago Bears Draft In The First Round?
Reportedly, the Bears’ open offensive coordinator spot was highly coveted because of the opportunity to coach Caleb Williams. While the team hasn’t publicly announced what they will do with the draft pick, many believe they will keep it and trade away Fields.
All the talk over the next few months will center around the No. 1 overall pick. Yet, the Bears have another high draft pick in the first round. They could consider a wide receiver like Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze. However, both talented wide receivers could get drafted before Chicago is on the clock at ninth overall.
They could consider an offensive tackle like Olu Fashanu from Penn State or Taliese Fuaga from Oregon State with the top-10 pick. However, don’t rule out a pass rusher or cornerback. Dallas Turner, Kool-Aid McKinstry, and Terrion Arnold are three Alabama players who could be an option for the Bears with their second first-round draft pick.
