The Buffalo Bills entered the 2022 season with Super Bowl expectations. They started the year on fire, winning six of their first seven contests, including a 24-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6.
However, they lost back-to-back games in Weeks 9 and 10 to the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings. After their two-game losing streak, Buffalo won seven straight to end the regular season with a 13-3 record.
Following their first-round playoff win over the Miami Dolphins, the Bills faced the Cincinnati Bengals this past week. These two teams didn’t get to finish their regular season matchup this year after Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field in Week 17. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a storybook ending for Buffalo, as the Bengals crushed them 27-10.

What Draft Picks Do The Buffalo Bills Own?
After the team’s second straight second-round exit from the playoffs, the Bills will have the 27th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. It will be the third straight year Buffalo will pick outside the top 20.
Overall the team has six picks in this year’s draft, including three in the top 95 selections. Unfortunately, the Bills won't receive any compensatory picks this year.
Who Could The Buffalo Bills Draft In The First Round?
Buffalo has several holes that need to be filled this offseason. However, the need for another wide receiver became obvious in the playoffs. In the playoff matchup against the Bengals, Gabe Davis had only two receptions for 37 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Stefon Diggs has struggled in his past four playoff games with Buffalo. During that span, the star receiver has totaled only 17 receptions for 216 receiving yards and zero touchdowns. He had fewer than 40 receiving yards twice, including Sunday against the Bengals. Furthermore, Diggs totaled only seven receptions for 42 receiving yards in the team’s last two playoff losses.
If the Bills add a wide receiver in the first round, keep an eye out for Ohio State’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba. While he struggled with injuries this past season, the Buckeye receiver was a force in 2021. Despite playing behind Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, Smith-Njigba had 95 receptions for 1,606 receiving yards and nine touchdowns a year ago.
