The 2023 season was not kind to the Arizona Cardinals, but the team was expected to struggle under first-year head coach Jonathan Gannon -- especially while Kyler Murray recovered from his torn ACL.
Heading into the year, many speculated that the Cardinals could finish with the worst record and hold the No. 1 overall pick -- where they would then select USC's Caleb Williams. It didn't play out that way, and Arizona was just a little bit better than many predicted, so that won't be happening.
Which picks do the Cardinals have in the first round? Who are some potential prospects Arizona could target? Let's dive in.

What Draft Picks Do The Arizona Cardinals Own?
Arizona finished with a 4-13 record, netting them the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Additionally, they have the No. 27 overall pick via a trade with the Houston Texans last year. Houston traded up for the third pick to select Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson.
Many believed the Cardinals could end up with the No. 1 and No. 2 overall pick, but the Cardinals are picking after the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, and New England Patriots. Houston shockingly won the AFC South and won a playoff game, so that pick is much later than expected.

Having multiple first-rounders is always exciting, and the team seems happy with Kyler Murray as their franchise quarterback, so look for Arizona to add pieces elsewhere.
Who Could The Arizona Cardinals Draft In The First Round?
At pick No. 4, the Cardinals will likely hope Marvin Harrison Jr. falls to them. It's certainly possible, as the top three picks could be quarterbacks Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels. If Harrison is there, it would be a bit of a surprise if Arizona didn't pull the trigger. DeAndre Hopkins is long gone, and Marquise Brown is a free agent this offseason.

If Harrison Jr. gets selected before their pick, look for Arizona to potentially trade down and target Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner or UCLA edge rusher Laiatu Latu.
Depending on how the board plays out, the Cardinals have a wide range of possibilities with the No. 27 overall pick. If they didn't land Harrison Jr. earlier in the draft, Oregon wideout Troy Franklin would make plenty of sense. Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean would also address a team need. They could also select the best offensive tackle available to pair another young stud with Paris Johnson Jr. on the young offensive line. It's a critical offseason for the Cardinals, so it'll be fun to see it play out.
