Earlier in the year, Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss was a fantasy superstar. He had four top-10 fantasy finishes in the first six weeks. However, following Jonathan Taylor's return, Moss was almost nonexistent on the football field.
The 26-year-old running back did get some more opportunities at the Colts' lead back in Week 13 through Week 15 as Taylor nursed a thumb injury. Unfortunately, Moss injured his forearm on a touchdown early against the Pittsburgh Steelers and missed Week 16.
When will Moss return and be back? Will he return in Week 17? Let's dive in.

Zack Moss Injury Update
Moss appeared to be in pain when he caught a touchdown pass in Week 15 and came up holding his arm. The running back secured a 15-yard pass from Gardner Minshew and was taken down by a horse collar tackle into the end zone. He helped the Colts cut the deficit but never returned to the contest.
He left in the second quarter with 11:21 remaining in that game and also missed Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons due to a forearm issue. Moss also didn't practice at all last week.
But the young running back returned to the practice field leading up to Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He practiced in a limited fashion on both Wednesday and Thursday, putting him in a good spot to return this weekend. Moss will need to practice in full on Friday to avoid an injury designation heading into Sunday.
Zack Moss Fantasy Football Outlook
If Moss is active in Week 17, he'll have a great matchup ahead of him against the Raiders' run defense. Las Vegas is allowing the 10th-most fantasy points per game to running backs this season while also giving up 4.2 yards per carry to that position group in 2023.
Unfortunately, though, Moss is not start-worthy in most formats this weekend. With Taylor back and healthy from his thumb injury, he will be Indianapolis' top back on Sunday.
Over the past four games that both Taylor and Moss are active (Week 8 to Week 12), the latter is averaging just 29.3% of the Colts' offensive snaps. Moss won't see enough volume in this game to even be flex-worthy in deeper formats, as he plays second-fiddle to the former All-Pro running back.
