Minnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee) was on pace to post another excellent season as he averaged 14.6 PPR points per game, which tied him for first at his position.
Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ACL and MCL on December 26, which ended his season, and he is now in danger of missing the early part of the 2024 campaign.
When will T.J. Hockenson be back? When will Hockenson return from injury? Let's look at the latest T.J. Hockenson injury news.

T.J. Hockenson's Latest Injury Update (2024 Preseason)
According to Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune, the 27-year-old was placed on the PUP list on August 27 which will keep him sidelined for at least the first four games of the campaign.
Source confirms the #Vikings are putting T.J. Hockenson on the PUP list to start the season. He’ll miss at least the first four games while recovering from his torn ACL.

While this is an ideal injury report, it was very hard to picture the Iowa product suiting up for at least first few weeks of the season due to how late into the 2023 season he suffered the injury.
Fantasy managers should continue to pay close attention to any updates regarding Hockenson as he could be ready to return as early as Week 5 when the Vikings host the New York Jets on October 6.
T.J. Hockenson Fantasy Football Outlook for 2024
Fantasy managers should look to stash Hockenson on an IR spot or a bench spot on their roster. The former first-round pick was on pace to enjoy the best season of his professional career before the injury and is far too valuable to be available on the waiver-wire.

Through 15 games last fall, Hockenson was targeted on 26.5% of his routes and saw 19.5% of the team's air yards which were some of the best marks at his position last season.
Even though, Sam Darnold will now serve as the starting QB in the City of Lakes, Hockenson's ability to see not only a high target share, but also many of them downfield, should not hinder his production once he returns.

In the meantime, fantasy managers looking to fill their TE spot over the first month of the season should look to adding Taysom Hill or Hunter Henry.
Hill is typically deployed in a multi-utility role but given how the Saints currently lack proven receivers (outside of Chris Olave), he could see plenty of targets his way through the early part of the season.
Similarly, the Patriots have several rookie and sophomore wideouts who have very little professional experience. Veteran QB Jacoby Brissett could look Henry's way quite often during the first few weeks as the younger wideouts get accustomed to the NFL.
