Salvon Ahmed is the latest victim of the injury roulette in the Miami backfield.
Coincidentally, injuries are what gave Ahmed opportunities on offense to begin with. Jeff Wilson Jr. and De'Von Achane have both missed games with ailments, allowing Ahmed to be the RB2 in some instances behind Raheem Mostert.
The 24-year-old is the fourth Dolphins' running back to be placed on injured reserve this season.

Salvon Ahmed Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Ahmed was placed on injured reserve prior to the Dolphins' Black Friday game because of a season-ending foot injury. Miami called up Darrynton Evans from their practice squad to be the third running back behind Mostert and Wilson.
Ahmed's injury is not of the four-game variety. His season is over. He'll finish 2023 with 22 carries, 16 receptions, 149 total yards, and two touchdowns in eight appearances.
Rookies Achane (knee) and Chris Brooks (leg) should return to the lineup soon. The latter has been designated to return from injured reserve.
Salvon Ahmed Fantasy Football Outlook
While Ahmed posted on social media that he'd be "back and better" in 2024, his NFL future isn't as certain. He's only under contract with Miami through this season.
If the Dolphins were to bring Ahmed back in 2024, it wouldn't be for a larger role. Achane is a lock (barring a surprise trade) to be on the roster. Mostert and Wilson both have one year remaining on their contracts but the Dolphins could opt to move in a different direction. There are limited salary cap penalties for cutting either runner.
Regardless, Miami likely wouldn't enter a season with Achane and Ahmed as their primary running backs. At best, Ahmed is a third running back in the NFL, whether it's in South Florida or elsewhere. He only needs to be rostered in the deepest of dynasty formats.
