When Rhys Hoskins signed in Milwaukee, he was looking for a place where he could play first base every day and at age 30, attempt to rebuild his career after he suffered an injury that caused him to miss the entire 2023 season.
Hoskins had spent the first six seasons of his career in Philadelphia and was a fan favorite there as he hit 148 home runs for the Phillies before sitting out last season.
Rhys was off to a good start in Milwaukee, too, hitting nine home runs and driving in 27 runs over his first 38 games as a Brewer. But a hamstring injury has kept him shelved since May 14. How soon can we expect Hoskins to return to a Brewers lineup that badly needs his bat?

Rhys Hoskins Injury Update for Fantasy Baseball
Hoskins was placed on the 10-day IL after having an MRI on his injured hamstring. The initial diagnosis was a strained hamstring he was expected to miss 2-4 weeks of action. However, he is coming off a torn ACL in his other knee and Milwaukee is likely going to be cautious with how quickly they push him through rehabilitation and recovery.

Today marks two weeks since he first suffered the injury. He started a running program last week and was expected to take some swings by the end of the week. Without another concrete update on his official return date, we are just speculating but a return next week would be right in the middle of the initial 2-4 week timeframe.
Rhys Hoskins Fantasy Baseball Outlook
Hoskins is rostered in 74% of Yahoo leagues, which means he's probably not available in your league, but he was probably dropped by some frustrated managers in very shallow formats. With this injury seeming relatively minor and Hoskins expected to return soon, managers should continue to hold Hoskins in their IL slots and if he happens to be on the waiver wire for some reason, I would scoop him up.
Jake Bauers has been doing an admirable job of filling in against RHH, but the Brewers have been a lot more vulnerable to lefties without Hoskins's powerful bat in the cleanup spot.
At 30-22, Milwaukee holds a 3.5-game lead over the Chicago Cubs for first place in the NL Central. They have been a pleasant surprise this season and their offense has been a big part of that success. Hoskins's presence in that lineup is a big reason why they have been so successful. Brewers fans and fantasy managers alike are both hoping that Rhys recovers quickly and gets back to where he left off in terms of his offensive production.
