Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (hamstring) started 2024 on a massive tear. After a long offseason of speculation on the roles of Collins and fellow Texans WRs Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell, Collins emerged as the clear alpha and priority target for quarterback C.J. Stroud.
The third-year pro was targeted 44 times in his first five games, hauling in 32 passes for a ridiculous 567 yards and three touchdowns despite leaving the Week 5 game early. He was the WR2 in full-PPR scoring after five weeks despite not finishing his fifth game.
Unfortunately, he was pulled from his last game and did not return. So when will Nico Collins return and be back for the Texans?

Nico Collins Injury Update
The answer is not for a while. Sadly, the Houston star was placed on injured reserve after Week 5, meaning he will miss at least the next four games. He will be first eligible to return in Week 10, when his team takes on the Detroit Lions at home.

The sequence of events after the injury was a bit strange. First, the injury was described as minor, and he was day-to-day. Then he was week-to-week, and not soon after, placed on IR. It was a confusing situation, but at least it's been resolved quickly, rather than "week-to-week" status being dragged on for a month or more.

Fantasy managers should start checking for more updates ahead of Week 10. There's little chance we'll get an official return date before that time. Until then, the star WR will have to rehab his injury.
Nico Collins Fantasy Football Outlook
He's an absolute stud and must-start when he plays. Though he's certainly benefitted from Dell being a non-factor in the offense, he's a true alpha WR and should be started in all leagues in every game he plays. It's been surprising to see his dominance considering the presence of both Dell and Diggs.

He is likely matchup-proof. No thought needs to go into this. Start, never sit, and be grateful that you have such a great player when he comes back. He's looking like a league-winner.
