The San Francisco 49ers showed that they are capable of winning a game without their star defensive end, Nick Bosa (oblique), by blowing out the Chicago Bears 38-13 in Week 14. San Francisco held the Bears to just 162 total yards of offense by shutting down the run game and generating a ton of pressure on quarterback Caleb Williams.
Williams' struggles with dealing with pressure and the 49ers defensive line led to seven sacks of the Bears QB, and SF built a 24-0 lead that ended up being insurmountable. While Bosa's presence could've made this a bigger smackdown, it's nice that there's a good core group around him.
When will Bosa be able to return, though?

Nick Bosa Injury Update
Bosa is dealing with an oblique injury (supposedly). He unfortunately wasn't able to practice on Tuesday, lending to further doubt about his status for the game tomorrow. The 9ers will play the divisional rival Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football in a crucial matchup with big playoff implications.

His status is still unclear. It could be that the team is holding him out to give him as much recovery time as possible in order to let him play in the Week 15 game. He could also not be far enough along, and the team could opt to play it safe and give him extra time to recover, since the team will have a "long week" before Week 16.
UPDATE: Bosa is officially "Questionable" for the Thursday's game, per NFL insider Adam Schefter.
49ers ruled out LT Trent Williams (ankle) and S Malik Mustapha (chest, shoulder) for Thursday night’s game vs. the Rams.
DE Nick Bosa (hip, oblique), RB Isaac Guerendo (foot) and LB Dre Grenlaw (Achilles) are listed as questionable.

Nick Bosa Fantasy Football Outlook
Obviously you have to start him in IDP leagues if he plays. There's no question about that. In leagues that don't use individual defensive players but have D/ST slots on rosters, the 49ers defense probably shouldn't be started against the Rams anyway. LA just won an absolute shootout with the Buffalo Bills in Week 14.

There are some things in the NFL you simply can't defend. Quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp in an offense with a good offensive line, solid run game, and one of the best offensive minds in NFL history make for a brutal matchup at full strength.
Rams head coach Sean McVay is a nightmare for opposing defenses. His creativity and deep understanding of how to dissect and demolish coverages and defensive game plans is elite. It's incredibly dangerous to start any D/ST against LA, Bosa or no Bosa.
