Texas Rangers starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi has been out injured since July 18 due to a forearm strain. In his absence, the Rangers acquired the likes of Max Scherzer and Jordan Montgomery via trades as they aim to win the AL West division title for the first time since 2016.
Eovaldi signed a two-year, $34 million deal with the Rangers in December and was having a pretty good season until he got hurt. In 19 appearances this year, he had a record of 11-3 and a 2.69 ERA with 111 strikeouts. He averaged 8.08 K/9 and 6.62 hits per nine innings.
In this article, we will discuss when he is expected to return to play, as many fantasy managers are relying on him to get them through the last month of the regular season.

When Will Nathan Eovaldi Return To Pitch For The Rangers?
Nathan Eovaldi was seen throwing to pitchers on August 22, and it was evident that he is very close to returning to action. As per various reports, it is possible that the 33-year-old pitcher skips rehab starts and directly comes back to pitch for the Rangers.
He is estimated to return around the end of the month, and it will be a huge boost for the Rangers, who are in a great position to go deep into the playoffs.
Eovaldi didn't have a great year last season, and in 20 appearances, he had a record of 6-3 with a 3.87 ERA and 103 strikeouts. Due to it, many were skeptical about the Rangers decision to sign him, but so far the veteran has been worth every penny, and hopefully, he will finish the season strong.
The Rangers Need Eovaldi Back For World Series Push
The Rangers are currently 72-53 and 1.5 games ahead of the second-placed Houston Astros in their division. If Eovaldi comes back playing at the same level he was prior to his injury, it will be hard for the defending champions to leapfrog the Rangers to win the AL West.
The Rangers made some smart moves at the trade deadline, and if their star players stay healthy, they are undeniably a strong contender to win the World Series.
