The Los Angeles Angels made the decision around the trade deadline that they were not going to deal their all-world talent, Shohei Ohtani. Instead, they decided to add pieces to try and make a playoff run in 2023.
Things haven't exactly gone as planned since then, as the team is in the midst of a disastrous free fall. However, they just might be getting their other superstar back soon, and his name is Mike Trout.
Will Trout return to the big leagues in the near future? Will it be too late? Let's find the answers.

Mike Trout Injury Update
The Angels are currently 61-64 and remain 8.5 games out of the final wild-card spot. Not exactly a dream scenario for an organization with two of the best players in the game.
The playoffs seem like miles away for the team, but there is good news on the horizon. Trout is close to returning from the injured list, and could be back to live action as soon as this week. Back in early July, the talented slugger hurt his wrist, and it was later diagnosed as a broken hamate.
Since Trout exited the July 3rd game where it was believed he got injured, the Angels have gone 16-22, and are falling out of playoff contention faster than a speeding bullet. His return will certainly energize the team, and it looks like it could be as soon as this week, but it could be too late. The team has hinted at a return in the next couple of days, and they have made corresponding roster moves to suggest that, so look for the future hall of famer to possibly be in the lineup as soon as Tuesday.
Mike Trout Fantasy Baseball Outlook
When Trout returns this week, should you be counting on him to help your fantasy baseball team for the remainder of the season? The cleanup hitter was having another sensational campaign before he got hurt, hitting .263 with 18 home runs, 44 runs batted in, and an OPS of .862.
What's interesting about his imminent return, is that he will be doing so without having made a rehab assignment. When you are as gifted an athlete and baseball player as Trout is, you probably can just skip boring nonsense like that. However, it's very possible he will have some rust initially. But let's remember, he is Mike Trout, one of the greatest to ever play the game.
Coming off a wrist injury for a hitter is about as difficult a challenge as any. If anyone is going to come back and make an immediate impact, it's this guy. When he is back, make sure you insert him into your roster the second that occurs, and enjoy the last few weeks of the season.
