Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. suffered a brutal hit in the head in the team's Week 15 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittman laid out for a ball thrown by Gardner Minshew and unfortunately, got banged up on the play by a big hit from Damontae Kazee.
Pittman didn't return in that game and was immediately placed in the concussion protocol. After being cleared to return late last week, the Colts' wideout suffered a relapse and missed Week 16.
When will Pittman return and be back? Will he return in Week 17? Let's dive in.

Michael Pittman Injury Update
Things were trending up for Pittman late last week. He cleared the five-step concussion protocol on Friday and was cleared to play in Week 16. As a result, he traveled with the team on Saturday with the hopes that he would play on Sunday.
Despite clearing the concussion protocol, Pittman was still questionable for Week 16 due to a shoulder issue that he likely sustained on the same play from Kazee. However, we never got to see if the wideout would play because he picked up symptoms and was placed back into the concussion protocol on Saturday.
Now, Pittman's status is up in the air for Week 17. Concussions are tricky, and the fact that he suffered a relapse is not a great sign. He'll have to go through the five-step protocol again before being cleared for Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders. We should find out more information about his availability this weekend in Wednesday's team practice.
Michael Pittman Fantasy Football Outlook
It remains to be seen if Pittman will play in the fantasy football championship. But if he does, you are starting him in almost every format. He currently ranks as the WR11 while averaging 16.6 fantasy points per game.
Pittman has been a surprise fantasy star this season and went late in drafts this summer because of the uncertainty at the quarterback position. His late draft stock has turned the 26-year-old into one of the biggest steals. Before his injury in Week 15, he had scored at least 19.5 PPR fantasy points in three straight games.
Pittman has also been a consistent fantasy scorer this season, scoring double-digit fantasy points in 13 of 14 games this season. If he's on the field in Week 17, you should be starting him on your championship team.
