Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown (shoulder) hasn't had a great start to the season. In fact, he hasn't had a start to the season at all because he hasn't played in a game due to an injury he suffered in the preseason. He has a history of missing time due to injury, which is unfortunate.
He's a solid receiver when he's on the field, but his status for the rest of the season has been in question. He would add a nice extra speed element to an offense that already has burner Xavier Worthy, who's showed off his big play ability on multiple occasions. Brown would've been a great complement.
So will Marquise Brown return and play again for the Kansas City Chiefs this season?

Marquise Brown Injury Update
The team announced in September that it's unlikely that he will play again this season. Nothing much has changed since then, and they're sticking with their original plan. Fantasy managers who drafted Brown and haven't dropped him yet are probably better off cutting ties.
Surgery was a success ✅⏰

He seems on track to return and play in 2025.
Andy Reid gives an update on Hollywood Brown, saying, 'it's not going to be weeks, more like months.'
Tyreek Hill had the same injury in Jacksonville in 2019. Reid jokes that next time the #Chiefs are there he just won't use any receivers. 🥲 pic.twitter.com/ETCzQFC9fF

Unfortunately, "months" is now the full season.
Marquise Brown Fantasy Football Outlook
If he does end up playing, it would probably be only in the playoffs. The Chiefs are 5-0 and haven't been in serious danger of missing the games they've played in. It's unlikely that they'll go on a slide and have to fight for a playoff spot at any point. They have Patrick Mahomes II, of course, future Hall of Fame coach Andy Reid, and an elite defense.
Fantasy managers will have to turn elsewhere for production. JuJu Smith-Schuster appears to be a good option for the Chiefs, but he had a breakout game in Week 5, and he may command a decent price to acquire if he's not on waivers in your fantasy leagues.
