Last season, Kodai Senga finished second in the NL Rookie of the Year voting after an impressive 2023 campaign.
The 31-year-old was expected to anchor the Mets' rotation this season but suffered a shoulder injury in February during Spring Training.
He suffered a setback in April with another injury to his triceps and he has yet to pitch for New York or any of its minor league affiliates. However, within the last week, Senga has thrown a few live batting practice sessions and is ready to start a minor-league rehab assignment.

Kodai Senga Injury Update for Fantasy Baseball
Senga is set to make his first of several rehab starts for the Brooklyn Cyclones on Wednesday. He will likely be on tight pitch counts for his first few starts as the Mets will want to bring him along somewhat slowly considering that he has missed the entire season and most of Spring Training.

While the fact that he's making rehab starts is exciting, fantasy managers should remain patient as it could still be close to a month until we see Senga get stretched out enough to where he's ready to return to action for the Mets.
Kodai Senga Fantasy Baseball Outlook
Senga was simply fantastic for New York last season, striking out 202 hitters in 166 innings with a 2.98 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. While he struggled with some walk issues early on in the season, he quickly got them under control and had a huge second half of the year.

Senga's "ghost fork" which is his forkball/split-finger pitch was one of the best in the game last season. If he's able to make a full recovery and get back on the mound for the Mets soon, he's going to have a chance to be a huge factor in fantasy leagues. He's still available in 33% of Yahoo! leagues but should be stashed soon as that number will dwindle with each successful minor league rehab start.
