Baltimore Ravens second-year running back Keaton Mitchell has not made his 2024 season debut after suffering a major knee injury at the end of his rookie campaign in 2023. In a limited sample, Mitchell flashed speed and big-play ability, so his fantasy football upside is intriguing, at least in deep leagues.
Deep-league, best-ball, and dynasty managers are itching to see if Mitchell can make an impact this year and are wondering when he will be added to Baltimore's active roster.
When will Mitchell return to action, and what is his 2024 fantasy football outlook when he suits up? Let's dive into it.

Keaton Mitchell Injury Update
Mitchell (knee) is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Week 15 of last year, so he remains on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list ahead of Baltimore's Week 6 matchup with the Washington Commanders.
Head coach John Harbaugh said Mitchell is expected to play this season, but it's too early to predict when it will happen. "It's impossible to put a timetable on it exactly right now," Harbaugh said.
John Harbaugh said RB Keaton Mitchell (kne) is "right on schedule" and expects him to play sometime this season.
On when Mitchell could return off PUP, Harbaugh said, "It's impossible to put a timetable on it exactly right now. He isn't close enough yet to talk about it."

All that said, this is a clear "wait and see" situation.
Keaton Mitchell Fantasy Football Outlook
When Mitchell returns, he'll likely be the RB3 behind Derrick Henry and Justice Hill. However, rookie Rasheen Ali (neck) could have something to say about that because he's set to make his NFL debut soon after dealing with a neck injury in the preseason.
Fantasy managers in leagues of 12 teams or fewer can likely ignore Mitchell for now, though it could be worth stashing him in your IR spot if you have one open. People in leagues of 14 teams or more should monitor Mitchell's status over the next month, but it will likely take an injury to Henry or Hill for Mitchell to become a flex consideration when he returns.
The East Carolina product rushed for an impressive 396 yards and two touchdowns on just 47 carries (8.4 YPC) last season, but now that Henry is in town, his projected role is unlikely to put him on the fantasy football radar.
