The Houston Texans have been without kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn since Week 9 when he suffered a quad injury in a win over the Buccaneers. The team was forced to use kicker Dare Ogunbowale as the kicker in that game.
Since then, Fairbairn has been on the sidelines while Matt Ammendola has kicked for the Texans. Houston released Ammendola on Tuesday though, which seems to indicate that Ka'imi Fairbairn is close to returning.
When is Fairbairn coming back to action? What is his fantasy football outlook when he returns? Let's dive in.

Ka'imi Fairbairn Injury Update for Fantasy Football
The Houston Texans released Matt Ammendola on Tuesday, an indication that Ka'imi Fairbairn will be back for the team on Sunday when the team takes on the Tennessee Titans.
This will end a five-game absence for the Texans. The team has really felt the loss of Fairbairn, as Ammendola just hasn't provided the same level of consistency at the kicker position that Fairbairn brought. Ammendola is 6-for-9 on field goal attempts and 10-for-11 on extra points in five games with the team.
Ka'imi Fairbairn Fantasy Football Outlook
Earlier in his career, Ka'imi Fairbairn wasn't necessarily known for his consistency, but after converting 93.5% of his field goals last year, he's completed 94.7% of his field goals this year, going 18-for-19 on field goals and 14-for-14 on PATs. He was 24-for-24 on PATs last year.
Fairbairn has become one of the league's top kickers over the past two years. While Ammendola was not an option in fantasy leagues, Ka'imi Fairbairn is definitely worth playing if you're currently streaming kickers. Houston should be able to move the ball against the Titans, but injuries to the wide receiver position could keep them from getting the ball into the end zone, offering Fairbairn additional field goal opportunities in his return to the football field.
