The Los Angeles Chargers desperately need wide receiver Joshua Palmer to return this season. But will he?
In the seven games in which Palmer played, the Chargers threw for over 200 yards in six of them. But since Palmer got injured, the Chargers have been limited to under 200 passing yards in two of their past four games.
When is Joshua Palmer coming back to action? What is Palmer's fantasy football outlook when he returns? Let's dive in.

Joshua Palmer Latest Injury Update - December 12
Palmer is being activated from Injured Reserve on Tuesday, putting him on track to play against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football in Week 15.
Joshua Palmer Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Palmer injured his knee in a Week 8 win over the middling Chicago Bears. Since then, Palmer has spent the past four weeks on the IR, which means he is now eligible to return. Once he begins practicing, which he has not done yet, he will have to be put on the active roster within three weeks.
The Chargers already lost Mike Williams for the season earlier this year, so Palmer's injury was a big blow. It has hurt Justin Herbert's fantasy value, too. Without Palmer, Herbert is averaging 35 yards per game fewer than he did when Palmer was playing.
First-round rookie Quentin Johnston hasn't stepped up to make an impact. He has been limited to fewer than 55 yards in every game and only caught one pass for seven yards last week. Keenan Allen already surpassed 1,100 yards on the season, but he can't carry the team's offense by himself.
Joshua Palmer Fantasy Football Outlook
From Week 3 through Week 7, Palmer finished as a WR3 twice, as a WR2 once, and as a WR1 once. Given that Quentin Johnston hasn't done anything, Palmer would probably slot back in as the Chargers' WR2 if he returned healthy. His return date is still unclear, and he might indeed miss the rest of the season.
Beyond this week's matchup against the New England Patriots, Palmer and the Chargers face the Broncos twice, the Bills, and the Raiders in the final weeks of the fantasy football season. Despite playing poorly early in the season, the Broncos' defense has looked formidable in recent weeks.
The Broncos have only allowed 183.0 yards per game in the past three games. That's the eighth-lowest total. They held the Chiefs, Bills, and Vikings all to fewer than 215 passing yards. The Chargers play the Broncos in Week 17, the fantasy championship week, which would be a tough matchup for Palmer if the Broncos' defense remains playing this well.
