Jacob Misiorowski is an important name to know moving forward in fantasy baseball. The 6-foot-7 Brewers starting pitcher possesses two elite pitches in his fastball and slider. He is dominating Double-A this year but still walking an egregious rate of hitters. How long will Misiorowski remain in the minors? Will he even get called up this season? Let's dive in and find out.

Misiorowski has a 2.52 ERA and 31.4% strikeout rate in 10 minor league starts in 2024. He was promoted to this level in 2023 as a 21-year-old but posted an abhorrent 5.57 ERA through 21 innings. While his 2.52 ERA is questionable given his bloated 18% walk rate, a 3.11 FIP and 3.84 xFIP suggest that only a slight amount of luck is on his side.
Misiorowski is producing ground balls at a 45.8% clip, which is his highest career rate. This advancement has mitigated the damage of walks without hurting his ability to throw strikes.

With Robert Gasser (elbow) injured again, Misiorowski could find himself in the Brewers rotation later this season. A call-up is not imminent given that Misiorowski has never pitched in Triple-A, but there is precedent for skipping that level among top prospects. The likeliest scenario is a call-up later this season when rosters expand in September or at best after the trade deadline if help is not added to an increasingly thin rotation. When Misiorowski is up, he is worth a roster spot in 12+ team leagues due to his strikeout ability and pedigree.
