Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram played in just one game this season and caught one pass for five yards in the Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins. The 30-year-old tweaked his hamstring in pregame warmups ahead of Week 2's contest against the Cleveland Browns and has been sidelined ever since.
Since Engram caught a whopping 114 passes in 2023, his fantasy managers had high hopes for him and are surely wondering when they can put him back in lineups.
When is Engram coming back to action, and what's his fantasy football outlook when he returns? Let's dive in.

Evan Engram Injury Update
According to Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson, Engram (hamstring) is likely to return in Week 6 to face the Chicago Bears in London. This is great news for his fantasy managers and the Jacksonville offense, but anyone rostering Engram should continue to monitor his practice status. The team is required to release its first injury report of the week on Wednesday.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson believes TE Evan Engram, who has not played since Week 1 due to a hamstring injury, is likely to return for Sunday’s game in London vs. the Bears. “I think the chances of him getting back in here this week are pretty good,” Pederson said.

After Engram tweaked his hamstring in Week 2, many believed it would not keep him out of action as long as it has, but at least he's on track to finally return.
Evan Engram Fantasy Football Outlook
The Bears have surrendered the eight fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends this season, but Chicago's opponents have been the Titans, Texans, Colts, Rams, and Panthers. None of those teams have above-average tight end receiving threats, so Engram could still contend for a TE1 finish this week. Engram faces more target competition than last season with rookie Brian Thomas Jr. showing out, but he should remain a top target for the struggling Trevor Lawrence.

RotoBaller's rankings expert Nick Mariano has Engram penciled in at the TE10 spot in his early Week 6 fantasy football tight end rankings. Given the struggles at the position as a whole, a modest game is all it takes to be a weekly low-end TE1.
