The Chicago Bears' backfield has been tough to trust in recent weeks. Running back D'Onta Foreman was the team's top option in Week 14 against the Detroit Lions. In that game, he saw 55% of the Bears' offensive snaps while carrying the ball 11 times for 50 yards.
In Week 15, though, Foreman played a limited role and had just six carries for negative six yards against the Cleveland Browns. However, the 27-year-old back wasn't a factor in Week 16 as he missed the contest, paving the way for Khalil Herbert to have a big game.
So, when will Foreman return and be back? Will he return in Week 17? Let's dive in.

D'Onta Foreman Injury Update
Foreman was inactive in Week 16 against the Arizona Cardinals and missed his second game over the past five weeks. The 27-year-old was held out of last Sunday's game due to a personal matter.
But Foreman should be back for the Bears in Week 17 against the Atlanta Falcons. The six-year veteran returned to the team on Wednesday and practiced in full to start the week. He will be active again on Sunday, looking to carry Chicago's backfield once again.
D'Onta Foreman Fantasy Football Outlook
Foreman will return in Week 17 and be right back in the mix on offense. However, he'll surely be a part of a three-back committee in Chicago with Roschon Johnson and Herbert. All three running backs appear to also be taking turns as the lead runner over the past couple of weeks.
In Week 14, it was Foreman who played 55% of the snaps. In Week 15, it was Johnson who played 49% of the snaps, and last week, it was Herbert who saw 51% of the Bears' offensive plays. So, with that in mind, it's way too hard to predict which back will emerge in the fantasy football championship.
That makes Foreman an extremely risky play in Week 17. The 27-year-old running back has also failed to reach above 10 PPR fantasy points in five of the past six games. He is likely only flex-worthy in deeper formats this weekend.
