The Houston Texans agreed to a one-year "prove it" deal with Dalton Schultz. Fantasy managers, similarly, weren't as sold on the former Cowboy, and wanted him to prove that he could put up numbers in a new offense before he was worthy of a roster spot.
Prove it, he did. From Weeks 4 through 11 (after a rough beginning to the campaign), Schultz scored five touchdowns in seven games. He also added a 10-catch, 100-yard, TE1 finish in that stretch.
But an unfortunate injury against Jacksonville put an impressive season on pause. He's now missed one game (a victory over Denver) and, hopefully, it's a quick return to the field.

Dalton Schultz Injury Update for Fantasy Football
The Texans' starting tight end returned to practice on Wednesday, albeit in a limited fashion. It's an upgrade over the series of missed practices last week.
Schultz's return provides some optimism that he'll be able to suit up on Sunday against the New York Jets. Coach Ryans said they will see where he's at when the work week comes to a close.
Dalton Schultz Fantasy Football Outlook
Schultz will likely be right back in the TE1 conversation when he does return from his injury, but hamstring ailments can be tricky. More often than not, it takes extended game action for them to return to form. The risk of reinjury also looms.
There are a couple of big changes to the Houston offense that could impact Schultz's stock. Reserve tight end Brevin Jordan is back in the lineup. He's a receiving tight end that could take away a few snaps and targets from the starter. More importantly, rookie receiver Tank Dell is out for the season with a fractured fibula. 7.5 targets per game are now up for grabs. Schultz, alongside Nico Collins, Noah Brown, and possibly even John Metchie III will see a bump in usage.
The Texans draw the Jets in Week 14. With a pair of shutdown corners on the outside, some teams opt to attack their defense with the tight end position. As long as he's not restricted, Schultz will be in play as a starting fantasy football tight end on Sunday.
