The Philadelphia Eagles' veteran tight end, Dallas Goedert, has missed three straight games due to a hamstring injury, including Sunday's matchup. His absence has left a gap in the Eagles' offense, as he remains an essential target for Jalen Hurts.
The team elevated tight end E.J. Jenkins from the practice squad for Week 9, and it is still unclear if Goedert will be able to play in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys.
The 29-year-old's recovery has been slower than fantasy managers would like, and his participation in practice will be key for determining his availability. Without clear indications of his return, managers must closely monitor his practice status.

Dallas Goedert Injury Update
Goedert's injury initially seemed manageable, but three missed games have raised concerns about his recovery pace. The tight end has not practiced for the past two weeks, a trend that may continue into Week 10.
The Eagles are cautious about rushing him back because hamstring injuries can be easily reaggravated. Head coach Nick Sirianni has provided limited updates, stressing that the team is prioritizing the tight end's full recovery before he returns to avoid any re-injury risks.

With Goedert out, the Eagles have relied on Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll at tight end. Calcaterra, in particular, has shown promise, finishing second in targets and catches in the Eagles' 28-23 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9.
His performance underscores his capability as a fill-in option, although he does not provide the same upside as the South Dakota State alum in fantasy lineups. If Goedert remains out for Week 10, Calcaterra could be a short-term solution, especially in deeper leagues.
Dallas Goedert Fantasy Football Outlook
For fantasy managers, Goedert's injury status requires careful monitoring this week. His presence would be valuable against a Cowboys defense that has struggled against versatile tight ends.
Goedert's value remains high as a trustworthy target with red zone appeal, making him worth stashing if he continues to miss time. Given the Eagles' schedule and potential playoff push, the team will likely prioritize his health, which may mean another game or two on the sidelines if he is not practicing.

If the 2018 draft pick misses Week 10, fantasy managers should consider Calcaterra, who could be a decent replacement, particularly in PPR leagues. In Week 9, Calcaterra saw a notable number of targets and demonstrated solid hands.
If Goedert does return soon, he should be inserted back into lineups as a reliable TE1 option. However, if the TE remains sidelined, managers must look for a substitute or adjust expectations accordingly for the weeks ahead.
For now, Goedert remains a hold in fantasy leagues, as his return could bring a needed boost for the playoffs.
