Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) has had a rough time with injuries since his magical triple crown season in 2021, where he led the NFL in receiving yards, won NFL Offensive Player of the Year, and won the Super Bowl while taking home the Super Bowl MVP Award.
He hasn't played more than 12 games in a season since then, logging just nine in 2022 and 12 in 2023. To make matters worse, he picked up a high ankle sprain in Week 2 of this season and hasn't played a down since. He just can't get a break.
When will Cooper Kupp return and be back for the Rams?

Cooper Kupp Injury Update
The Rams have a conveniently timed bye week this week, meaning the All-Pro will have more time to recover without missing an additional game. Rams head coach Sean McVay, known for his candidness regarding player injuries and usage, said Kupp should return by Week 7 to play against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Rams are planning for WR Cooper Kupp -- who will miss his third game in a row Sunday due to a high ankle sprain -- to return after their bye next week in time for their Oct. 20 home game vs. the Raiders as long as there are no setbacks in practice, per sources. pic.twitter.com/JkoohnAd6c

So far, there have been no setbacks in his recovery, and in the absence of those, fantasy managers can expect McVay's words to be true. Setbacks can always occur, though, so managers should stay updated on the situation.
Cooper Kupp Fantasy Football Outlook
The former Super Bowl MVP has one of the highest ceilings of any wide receiver in PPR scoring formats when fellow WR Puka Nacua isn't in the lineup. While Jordan Whittington could take a small load off Kupp's shoulders, he should earn a big target share. Rams QB Matthew Stafford loves feeding his star players.
Even after missing Week 3, Cooper Kupp leads the Rams with a 28% target share on the season. Demarcus Robinson is second at 15%.
How long until somebody on the team overtakes Kupp? pic.twitter.com/eV814yPpFb

He was targeted 21 times in Week 1. That's utterly absurd. He's the new GOAT of PPR scams, and he cannot be left out of starting lineups when he plays. Even when Nacua returns, there will be a great floor and nice ceiling for Kupp in PPR, so he cannot be benched. Expect WR1/WR2 production.
