Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud didn't play in Week 15's game against the Tennessee Titans due to a concussion. Case Keenum stepped up in his absence and led the team to a 19-16 win in overtime.
With the win over the Titans, the Texans improved to 8-6 on the season and have the joint-best record in the AFC South. They can easily make the playoffs, and that would be a great achievement for a team with a rookie quarterback and a rookie head coach.
However, for that to be possible, they need Stroud back. When will the rookie quarterback return? Will he play in Week 16 against the Cleveland Browns? Let's take a look.

C.J. Stroud Injury Update for Fantasy Football
As per the latest update, C.J. Stroud still hasn't cleared the concussion protocol. He is still feeling the effects of the concussion that he suffered in Week 14 against the New York Jets.
His status for Week 16 is still up in the air, but based on the other players who have suffered concussions this season, he should be able to play in the next game. The Cleveland Browns have the best defense in the NFL this season, and for the Texans to win this game, they need their star quarterback back healthy.
Before missing the Week 15 game, the Ohio State product had played all games this season. Stroud's status is being closely monitored, and more updates on him will be added as the week progresses.
C.J. Stroud Fantasy Football Outlook
In 13 games this season, C.J. Stroud has thrown for 3,631 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions, for a passer rating of 98.7. He has a completion percentage of 62.4% and is averaging 279.3 passing yards per game this season.
Heading into Week 16, Stroud has recorded a total of 247 points in half-PPR scoring leagues while averaging 19 points per game. His return could propel many fantasy managers to get some crucial points in the ongoing playoffs. However, he has a tough matchup in Week 16 as the Browns' defense is giving up an average of 20.6 points and just 158.8 passing yards per game this season.
A few weeks ago, he was also an MVP candidate but is unlikely to win that since Brock Purdy and Dak Prescott's teams have a better record than the Texans. Regardless of that, the Texans quarterback is the clear-cut favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award this season.
