Everything was going right for the Phillies this season. Just three days ago, they had the best record in baseball and a relatively healthy ball club heading into the second half of the season.
Then Philly superstar Bryce Harper came up lame after running through the first base bag on what would be the last out of the game.
Phillies fans and fantasy managers both have to hope that Harper's injury isn't too serious as he was playing some of his best baseball of the season right before getting hurt. So when we will see Harper back on the field for Philadelphia?

Bryce Harper Injury Update for Fantasy Baseball
Harper was raking during the month of June, smashing seven of his 20 home runs this month while hitting .379, scoring 20 runs, and racking up 16 RBI.

Harper's recent surge has put his season average up to .302 and inside the top ten in terms of his Yahoo ranking for fantasy baseball. The only category that Harper hasn't been a huge boost on offense is stolen bases as he's swiped just four bags this year.
Bryce Harper Fantasy Baseball Outlook
The good news surrounding Harper's injury is that he was only placed on the 10-day IL. The initial diagnosis is a "low-grade hamstring strain," and he could be ready to return to the lineup as soon as sometime next week.

However, the Phillies could exercise some caution with their superstar and hold him out a few more games to get Harper an entire extra week of rest during the All-Star break. Harper was very vocal about how much pain he was in when he first suffered the injury, but he's also not one to miss more time than he needs to, especially with the Phillies being in a pennant race in the National League.
Fantasy managers have to simply hold Harper on their IL until he's cleared to return and hope that they can pick back up right where he left off before the injury. In the meantime, Brandon Marsh will hold down the cleanup spot in the lineup for Philadelphia, while Kody Clemens will slide into the lineup and man first base.
