Ben Rice is demolishing Double-A pitching this season yet it is somehow worse than his 2023 stint! Rice's 146 wRC+ pales to 2023's 182 wRC+ where he pummeled four more HRs and 22 more RBI in the same amount of games (48). Nevertheless, this recent run for Rice is impressive and he should be up in Triple-A soon.
Ben Rice Fantasy Baseball Outlook
New @NYDNSports:
Did you know that Ben Rice is "damn near" fluent in Spanish? The skill makes the #Yankees catching prospect a “huge asset” to the @SOMPatriots' pitching staff.
Meanwhile, Rice is also learning first base. That's still a work in progress.https://t.co/YJUjH1bf8V

Rice has virtually no fantasy baseball value for the 2024 season outside of a potential late-season call-up when rosters expand in September. The Yankees are hot and everyone is healthy for the most part. The catching duo of Jose Trevino and Austin Wells is getting the job done and not presenting the team with any pressing need for Rice's power. With Rice working at 1B more this season, it will take an injury or major slump from Anthony Rizzo for him to see time in the Yankees' lineup.
