New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard has missed three consecutive games with a chest injury.
Lazard was having a strong season as New York's No. 2 receiver before the injury, but the team's addition of Davante Adams has complicated things for Lazard as far as his fantasy outlook goes.

Allen Lazard Injury Update
New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard has had some strong performances in 2024, but he's now missed three consecutive games with a chest injury. He has played just one game since the Davante Adams trade, catching four passes for 58 yards in Week 7 against the Steelers.
did going from Allen Lazard to Davante Adams make the Jets offense WORSE?

Lazard was placed on the Injured Reserve, which means he has to miss at least four games. But that gets complicated because he wasn't placed on IR until after he missed a game.
That means that his Week 8 absence doesn't count toward the four games he has to miss. Factor in New York's upcoming bye week and we won't see Lazard until at least Week 14 when the team faces the Miami Dolphins.
It's not clear if he'll be back by then or not, but fantasy managers have to wait a bit still before potentially getting Lazard back.
Allen Lazard Fantasy Football Outlook
Lazard had a solid showing in the one game he played with Adams, but overall his fantasy outlook is significantly lowered with Adams and Garrett Wilson ahead of him in the pecking order in New York.
Allen Lazard is on IR [unclear when he will return] & Mike Williams got traded, someone will have to step up at wide receiver.
One name to watch is special team ace Irv Charles.

And Lazard's absence doesn't even open up opportunities for anyone else. For example, last week Malachi Corley and Xavier Gipson combined for three targets. You might expect one to break out a bit with Lazard sidelined, but it isn't happening.
Once he returns, Lazard is nothing more than a dart throw WR5/6 play based on his role and the overall struggles of this Jets offense.
