New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest) has been a surprisingly good fantasy option this season in the games he's played. He racked up 30 receptions, 412 receiving yards, and five touchdowns in seven games as a Jet this season. At many times, he outshined fellow WR Garrett Wilson.
Unfortunately, he was placed on injured reserve with a chest injury before Week 9's slate of games. This would have been a much bigger blow to the Jets' offense had they not traded for WR Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders a few short weeks ago. Still, quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be without one of "his guys" for some time.
So when will Lazard return and be back? What's his fantasy football outlook when he's on the field again?

Allen Lazard Injury Update
The IR designation means No. 10 will be ineligible to play until his team's Week 14 matchup with the Miami Dolphins. A player being placed on injured reserve means they must miss at least the next four games and bye weeks don't count toward that. Technically, the former Green Bay Packer won't be able to play for four more weeks.

As is often the case with players on IR, there currently isn't a timetable for his return, and it likely won't be until we're much closer to Week 14. Fantasy managers may have to wait a month or more for substantive updates on this situation.
Allen Lazard Fantasy Football Outlook
The arrival of Adams and the presence of Wilson certainly will equate to fewer targets for the undrafted man out of Iowa State, but he'll still have plenty of value. Adams is not the player he once was, and Rodgers will still throw the ball in Lazard's direction at least a few times per game.
In only one half of football, here are just a few plays your #CyclonesInTheNFL have made:
- touchdown by Allen Lazard
- one handed grab and touchdown by Breece Hall
- sack by Will McDonaldRoll Clones 🌪️ pic.twitter.com/qfBpbXelmq

The five touchdowns also indicate that he earned high-quality targets for fantasy football and likely will continue to. There's good reason to hold him in deeper leagues, and he should be a fine WR3/FLEX option when he returns.
