Following two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, wide receiver Marquise Brown entered free agency this offseason looking for a new contract. The Kansas City Chiefs eventually offered him a one-year deal for the 2024 season.
With the Chiefs needing another wide receiver for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Brown was a perfect match for Kansas City. His landing spot also boosted his fantasy value, as he will now catch passes from Mahomes in 2024. However, fantasy managers might have to wait to see the speedy wideout on the field due to a shoulder injury.
Given his recent injury, when should fantasy managers draft Brown in 2024 fantasy football drafts? Let's dive in and find out.

Marquise Brown Injury Update
Brown was in line to start the season as one of the Chiefs' top two wide receivers in the passing game. But it looks like that won't be the case to begin the 2024 campaign, as the 27-year-old wideout injured his shoulder in the team's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 10.
Days later, Brown was officially diagnosed with a sternoclavicular injury that will sideline him for four to six weeks. With Kansas City kicking off its season against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, September 5, it appears the wideout will miss Week 1 of the new campaign.
#Chiefs WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is expected to miss four to six weeks with the sternoclavicular injury he suffered, per multiple sources. Opening night is three weeks from this Thursday night.

According to his four-to-six-week timeline, fantasy managers can expect Brown to return sometime between Week 2 and Week 4. If his timeline is on the earlier side -- around the four-week mark -- that would put him on pace to play in the team's Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Which Round Should You Draft Marquise Brown in Fantasy Football?
Prior to his injury, Brown was going somewhere around the seventh to ninth round of drafts. His ADP in Yahoo! leagues was set at 89.5. While his ADP will likely drop a bit following his four-to-six-week injury timeline, he shouldn't fall a whole lot in your fantasy drafts.
At most, Brown will miss the first three weeks of the season -- assuming there are no setbacks. If he does wind up missing the full six weeks, that would put him back on the field for the Chiefs' Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. As a result, fantasy managers will still have him for most of the year.

That's why Brown's 89.5 ADP is still where you should take him in your leagues. He should be one of Mahomes' top targets in the passing game, and that could help him put up some solid fantasy numbers in 2024. If he winds up falling in your fantasy draft, he could become a value pick in the double-digit rounds.
