There are plenty of exciting young quarterbacks in fantasy football in 2024 including C.J. Stroud, Anthony Richardson, and Jordan Love. However, some seasoned veterans are being overlooked, like Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.
Murray tore his ACL in 2022 and returned to the lineup halfway through 2023. Murray's season was not perfect, but it was solid considering his injury and the poor state of the Cardinals' offense.
With a new culture being built in Arizona and new weapons in place, Murray has a chance to shine once again. Let's dive into Murray's 2024 fantasy outlook and see how you should value him this season.

Kyler Murray 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
The world seems to have forgotten how good Murray was for fantasy through his first three seasons from 2019 to 2021. Murray finished no lower than QB10 in total points through his first three seasons. Additionally, Murray has only finished lower than QB9 in points per game once. That occurred during his rookie season when he was the QB11 in points per game.
Murray has been a good to great option in fantasy for his whole career. He has a clear top-five upside due to his rushing ability. Murray is also a smooth passer who can challenge for 4,000 passing yards.

Murray finally has a high-pedigree young weapon in wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. The meteoric rise of tight end Trey McBride also boosts Murray's overall stock. Second-year wide receiver Michael Wilson is also a candidate to level up. With improved weaponry around him, Murray could take another step as a passer.
Murray's rushing baseline will keep him relevant on a week-to-week basis. Murray should be good for 500-plus yards on the ground and almost 4,000 yards through the air. If he pushes for 30-plus total touchdowns, then Murray is a lock for the top 10 and could wind up as a top-5 quarterback by season's end.
When Should I Draft Kyler Murray in 2024 Fantasy Football?
Murray lasts until the seventh or eighth round in most 12-team fantasy drafts. I have drafted Murray in many mock drafts and I have found myself grabbing him a round early in almost every instance.
Should Murray stay healthy, then he is a much safer bet than pocket passers in his draft range including Jordan Love, Joe Burrow, and Dak Prescott. There is just no beating quarterback rushing baseline in fantasy football.
With a flurry of draft picks and free agent moves this offseason, the Cardinals should support a good offense. If Harrison is as advertised then the offense could be scary.

This team may not win a lot of games but they should be competitive in most of them. Most importantly they will likely need to throw a lot to keep up in a crowded NFC West. Murray is my top quarterback target in 2024 and is a great consolation prize if you miss out on one of the elite quarterbacks.
