Los Angeles Chargers tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) was catapulted to fringe fantasy relevance by the absolute lack of other pass-catching weapons on the Chargers offense this season. Unfortunately, he's dealing with a shoulder injury that he picked up in Week 14. He wasn't able to play at all the subsequent week.
Now, his Week 16 status is in question. Unfortunately, the team plays on Thursday Night Football, meaning he'll have less time to recover from his ailment. This increases his likelihood of having to sit out the game, meaning fantasy managers who were relying on Dissly in their TE spot may have to look elsewhere soon.
So when will Dissly return?

Will Dissly Injury Update for Fantasy Football
He was listed as a non-participant on his team's estimated injury report for Monday's walkthrough. This doesn't bode well for his availability in Week 16. At this point, we'd expect him not to be able to play, but future updates should lead us further toward knowing the truth.
🚨Short week concerns
TNF
•Will Dissly: likely out 1-2 more weeks
•Justin Herbert L ankle aggravation (should be ok)SAT
•Patrick Mahomes high ankle, but has played through worse before
•Joe Mixon L ankle (didn’t look like himself post injury)
•George Pickens hamstring— Jeff Mueller, PT, DPT (@jmthrivept) December 16, 2024
Los Angeles is in the thick of playoff contention, so they're unlikely to shut him down for the season. But a return in Week 17 seems much more likely, as he'll have extra time to rest during a long week.
Will Dissly Fantasy Football Outlook
Even if he does return in Week 17, it's probably not a good idea to start him. Players are often used a bit less in their returns from injury, as sometimes coaches deem it as okay for them to take the field with reduced workloads. So it's best to look for other options on the waiver wire.

You should also consider the part where he's not really that good, and quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle) has propped up Dissly's fantasy production with his own greatness. Even on a roster severely lacking pass-catching talent, Dissly has recorded double-digit PPR fantasy points just twice this season.
Try to pick up someone like Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange off waivers. He's actually a solid player.
