Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) tore his ACL in his team's loss in the first round of the 2023 NFL Playoffs to the Detroit Lions. He's now 31 years old, and players on the wrong side of that age cliff with season-ending injuries late in the year tend to take some time to recover.
He's been the team's clear lead tight end when healthy, but there are always questions on how good players will be when they get this old and have these type of injuries. It's also worth questioning if he'll be back during the fantasy season at all.
So when is Higbee coming back?

Tyler Higbee Injury Update for Fantasy Football
On November 15, Sarah Barshop, a journalist for ESPN NFL Nation covering the Rams, reported that Rams head coach Sean McVay said that Higbee is just "a couple of weeks" away from his return to football. So we know we won't be seeing him in Week 12, and at least a few more after that.
Sean McVay said TE Tyler Higbee is "a couple weeks away" from returning from a torn ACL and MCL.

This isn't a massive surprise. Players tend to need at least 10 months to return from torn ACLs, and the older players get, the longer it takes for their bodies to recover. His injury occurred on January 14, 2024, so it's been just over 10 months since he was knocked out of action.
11-12 months is the most reasonable timeline given this new information.
Tyler Higbee Fantasy Football Outlook
It's not looking like he'll be fantasy relevant this year. Even if he returns to playing games by Week 15, which would be just over three weeks from today, he may have a ramp-up period and see reduced snaps and targets during that time. It isn't worth considering the ninth-year pro for your fantasy teams in 2024.
Backup tight end Colby Parkinson has had just one game above double-digit fantasy points this season, so he's not a great option either. Los Angeles' passing offense is heavily concentrated around its star wide receivers, Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp, and that seems unlikely to change.
