Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard (ankle, illness) wasn't able to play in Week 17 due to an ankle injury and some undisclosed illness. It wasn't initially reported that he would miss the game due to his ankle issue, but whatever he got sick with seemed to be a difference maker.
Pollard has racked up 1017 rushing yards on 238 carries, averaging just under 4.3 yards per carry, and scored five rushing touchdowns. He's also had solid usage as a receiver, catching 41 of his 57 targets for 238 yards. His production has seen a dip in recent weeks, though, and he's lost two fumbles in his last four contests.
When will he come back, though?

Tony Pollard Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Because of the illness situation, we don't really know how serious his ankle problem is, and it's hard to predict if he'll return. It seems unlikely that the team will shut him down, though, as he has some big incentives on his contract that he can meet if he passes a few production landmarks.

Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Pollard "could return" for Week 18, so he hasn't been ruled out. This is likely a situation that simply need to be monitored more. It doesn't seem that Callahan knows whether his RB1 will be able to recover sufficiently in time to play. That's the nature of injuries, though.
Tony Pollard Fantasy Football Outlook
He's probably a good start if he plays. We don't know how serious his injury is, so there's some risk, but if he scores two rushing touchdowns against the Houston Texans on Sunday, he'll get an extra $100,000. He'll also get $30,000 just for being active and playing in the game at all.
Tony Pollard makes an additional $30k in per-game bonuses when he's active, so he's out that today.
Per The Athletic, he's also chasing two contract incentives:
$250k for 1,000 rushing yards (he's at 1,017)
$100K for seven rushing TDs (he's at five) #Titans— Paul Kuharsky (@PaulKuharskyNFL) December 29, 2024
The Texans don't have a great run defense, but they've already clinched their division and a playoff berth. They will likely be motivated to rest their starters in order to have them healthy for their first postseason game. We'd start TP as an RB2/RB3 in Week 18 if he plays.
