Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell is a fantasy football industry favorite. The second-year wide receiver had an outstanding rookie season playing alongside Nico Collins.
However, many were worried about his fantasy value in 2024 after the Texans acquired Stefon Diggs in an offseason trade. Furthermore, Dell was coming off a fractured fibula that ended his rookie year.
Unfortunately, the star receiver suffered multiple injuries in the Week 3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, including one to his chest. When can fantasy players expect him back in the lineup?

When Is Tank Dell Coming Back?
Dell missed the Week 4 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars because of the chest injury. However, Houston will soon have the explosive second-year wide receiver back in the lineup. Reportedly, Dell will suit up on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, barring any setbacks at practice this week.

Tank Dell Fantasy Football Outlook
The Texans will welcome Dell back into their starting lineup with open arms. However, should fantasy players put the second-year wide receiver in their starting lineup in Week 5?
Unfortunately, he has seen his role on offense and target rate drop with Diggs in town. Furthermore, Collins has become C.J. Stroud’s unquestioned go-to No. 1 wide receiver in the passing game, posting a 28% target per route run rate and 34.7% first-read target share this season (per Fantasy Points Data).

Dell is the WR74 over the first month, averaging six half-point PPR fantasy points per game. He has scored 8.7 or fewer in every contest. Furthermore, the second-year wide receiver has fewer than 99 receiving yards this year, totaling 62 or less in every game.
Meanwhile, he faces a Bills defense that has shut down opposing wide receivers. They have surrendered only 15.5 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the second-fewest in the NFL. Buffalo has held wide receivers to 16 or fewer fantasy points in all but one game. Fantasy players should avoid playing Dell this week.
