Ricky Pearsall Injury Update for Fantasy Football
The 49ers used the No. 31 pick in the NFL Draft on Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, but the rookie has yet to step foot on an NFL field.
WR Ricky Pearsall (chest) was a full participant at 49ers practice for the second day in a row. He remains on the reserve/non-football injury list. The 49ers designated him for return earlier this week.

That's because on Aug. 31, Pearsall was shot in a robbery attempt. Luckily, Pearsall survived the shooting, but it has prevented him from making his NFL debut.
That debut could come in Week 7, but it's unlikely. Pearsall returned to practice this week. The team reopened his practice window, which means he has to debut in one of the next three games or his season will be over.
The best chance to see Pearsall on the field comes in Week 8 when the team faces the Dallas Cowboys. If not then, he would certainly suit up on Nov. 10 against the Buccaneers.
Ricky Pearsall Fantasy Football Outlook
A healthy Ricky Pearsall has a chance to provide major value for the 49ers, but that doesn't mean he'll produce a lot of fantasy value.
There are a lot of mouths to feed in San Fran, so Pearsall will likely be fighting with Jauan Jennings for the No. 3 receiver role with the 49ers. That's not a role that fantasy managers will be happy with.
While Pearsall is a talented player, he's unlikely to make a huge impact on the stat sheet in 2024.

Last season at Florida, Pearsall caught 65 passes for 965 yards and four touchdowns. In 2022, he led the SEC in yards per reception at 20.0.
