The Colorado Rockies will be without their cleanup hitter for at least the next 10 days as left-handed slugger Nolan Jones was placed on the 10-day injured list.
Colorado called up its top outfield prospect, Jordan Beck, to replace Jones on the roster. Colorado badly needs an infusion of talent on offense as it has been one of the worst lineups in baseball through the first five weeks of the season.
Jones had missed several games with back stiffness recently and left Sunday's game early after his back tightened up on him again.

Nolan Jones Injury Update for Fantasy Baseball
Jones's injury might not keep him out of the lineup for too long and it might just be a situation where he needs to rest, as he's clearly been trying to play through the injury.
Jordan Beck will be called up by the @Rockies if they put Nolan Jones on the IL, @JonathanMayo has confirmed.

The opportunity for fantasy relevance here exists for Beck, who was hitting well at Triple-A through the first month of the season. He should get a chance to play every day and we know how hitter-friendly Coors Field can be.
Nolan Jones Fantasy Baseball Outlook
Jones was an incredibly popular "sleeper" pick in drafts this spring as many managers were expecting him to build off a strong 2023 season in which he hit 20 home runs and stole 20 bases in just 367 at-bats. However, Jones was off to a very slow start this season. He was hitting under .200 until recently when a strong three-game stretch pushed him up to a .244 average. Jones has only two home runs and 13 RBI through his first 86 at-bats.

At this point, all you can do is put him on your IL and hope that some rest helps his ailing back and gets him back on track. Most managers invested a fifth- or sixth-round pick in Jones and there are still a lot of games left for him to get it turned around.
