Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert has been on the Injured Reserve with a sprained ankle. He was eligible to return in Week 10 when the Bears took on the Panthers, but Herbert remained sidelined.

When is Herbert coming back to action? What is his fantasy football outlook when he returns? Let's dive in.

Khalil Herbert Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert last played against Washington on Oct. 5. He carried the ball 10 times for 76 yards before injuring his ankle. He has 51 carries for 272 yards on the season as well as 10 receptions for 83 yards and a score.
He was eligible to play last week, but the Bears held Herbert out once again. Herbert's next chance to play comes this Sunday against the Lions.
Herbert was limited in practice on Wednesday, as was fellow running back D'Onta Foreman, who was banged up last week. The team has been non-committal as to whether Herbert will come off the IR this week or not, with head coach Matt Eberflus indicating that the team wants to see how he looks.
Khalil Herbert Fantasy Football Outlook
This Bears backfield is a huge question mark entering Week 11. Herbert remains on the IR with no clear indication of his availability. Foreman is now banged up. Rookie Roschon Johnson is healthy, but he only had five carries last week while Foreman had 21, though Johnson did get involved in the passing game with six targets.
Fantasy managers have a lot of questions right now and not many answers. If Herbert and Foreman both play, it's not even clear who would be the starter out of the two.
Unless only one of the two is active this week, Week 11 feels like a good time to avoid the Bears backfield. Take a "wait and see" approach here for now.
