Chicago Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen survived just one game this year before getting banged up, so he has missed each of the last two contests with a heel injury. He didn't have a great fantasy showing in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, but that was rookie quarterback Caleb Williams' first game, and Allen earned a whopping 11 targets.
Allen has been a dominant target earner throughout his career with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers, so fantasy managers should not give up on him yet.
When will Allen return to action, and what is his fantasy football outlook when he hits the field? Let's dive in.

Keenan Allen Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Since Chicago's Week 1 win over Tennessee, Allen (heel) has not practiced in any capacity. His practice participation signaled he would not play in Week 2 and Week 3, so fantasy managers should monitor his status this week, starting with Wednesday's official injury report.
Biggest takeaway from Caleb Williams film:
Keenan Allen needs to get healthy quick.
Bears seeing a wild amount of 2 high safeties because teams are daring them to run it & they can’t. Makes Caleb’s job harder when you don’t have Keenan underneath.

The organization did not place Allen on Injured Reserve, which usually means there is optimism he could return before missing four games. That said, he could get back to action in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams, but if not, he has a great chance to return in Week 5 for a matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
UPDATE: Allen is practicing in a limited fashion on Wednesday, meaning the could potentially return for Week 4.
Keenan Allen Fantasy Football Outlook
Despite Allen's injury and age concerns, he will be firmly on the fantasy football radar in Week 4 if he can play. The Rams have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers through three weeks and gave up monster games to Jameson Williams, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Jauan Jennings.
Additionally, Caleb Williams is coming off a game in which he attempted 52 passes and threw for 363 yards. Chicago can't find any success in the run game yet, so it might already be time for the offense to lean solely on Williams' arm.

Allen is unlikely to be a consistent producer all season long, but he should see plenty of targets and can continue to be a legitimate flex option in PPR formats.
