Baltimore Ravens running back Keaton Mitchell (knee) continues to work his way back from a devastating ACL tear that prematurely ended his season in 2023. The rookie was one of the most electric players in recent memory.
He broke off multiple massive runs and put the NFL on notice with his blazing quickness and track-star velocity. It was a shame to see his excellent effort come to an end so quickly.
So when will Mitchell return to play, and what's his fantasy football outlook for the rest of 2024?

Keaton Mitchell Injury Update for Fantasy Football
He's now entering his second week of practice after being designated to return from IR and having his practice window opened on Oct. 23. The window is 21 days long, meaning that he must be elevated to the active roster before that time period expires or he will not be eligible to return at all in 2024.

This means that Baltimore likely wants him to return sometime before their Week 11 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was technically eligible to play in Week 8, but typically, teams do not start players in their first games after returning from IR, especially from a season-ending injury.

It's good news to see him practicing, but fantasy managers should be prepared for him not to take the field until Week 11. The Ravens' backfield is in great shape, with the future Hall of Fame running back Derrick Henry running the ground game.
Keaton Mitchell Fantasy Football Outlook
It's hard to determine what kind of workload he will get when he returns, and it's likely he'll at least have a few games where he's not shouldering the full workload the Ravens want him to have as a fully healthy player. Henry's presence doesn't bode well for his projected volume, but he doesn't need a lot of touches to shine.
Keep your eye out for a Keaton Mitchell return in the coming weeks … crazy burst
I could see him carving out a 8-12 carry, 2-3 catch per game role in what should typically be a better offense with more positive game scripts despite how they looked today pic.twitter.com/UozSyqksNx

He has ludicrous speed and acceleration and can exploit the tiniest of holes in defensive coverage for massive gains. He'll join one of the best offenses in the NFL. He could have a few big games again in 2024, though he'd be no more than an RB3/FLEX option in deeper leagues with huge upside.
