The top prospect in the Yankees system and 41st overall prospect made the most of a major league debut last season.
In his small eight-game sample size, the outfielder who has been deemed “The Martian” hit .258/.303/.677 with four long balls and one swiped bag.
The switch-hitter looked quite comfortable in the majors but was unfortunately placed on the injured list and had to undergo Tommy John surgery, which not only ended his 2023 campaign but will also prevent him from returning in 2024 until mid-summer.

Jasson Dominguez Injury Update for Fantasy Baseball
The outfielder reported to Yankees Camp and began throwing from 60 feet earlier in February.
Manager Aaron Boone also told the media that Dominguez began swinging a bat, only from the right side shortly after he began throwing. The Yankee skipper also spoke to the local New York sports radio show, The Michael Kay Show, and said that Dominguez “will be back in the summer and I'm confident in that."

While this update does not suggest any sign of Dominguez nearing return it is nice to see the young outfielder is progressing well and is still on track to make a return later this season.
Jasson Dominguez Fantasy Baseball Outlook
A projected mid-summer return date sets the budding star to return to the Major leagues somewhere shortly before or after the All-Star Break in July. Last season, Bryce Harper underwent the same operation, which took him approximately 160 days to return to play after the operation. While a similar target date is reasonable for Dominguez, Harper was only cleared to play first base and serve as the team's designated hitter when he made his 2023 debut.
Unlike in Philadelphia last season, the Yankees' designated hitter role is already taken up by Giancarlo Stanton and occasionally Aaron Judge, who is recovering from a torn ligament in his toe. In addition, first base will be occupied by Anthony Rizzo. This makes Dominguez's timetable for a return a bit longer than Harper's, as when he does return, he will have to be cleared to return to center field.

While this makes Dominguez a tough player to value in 2024, he still remains a coveted player in keeper and dynasty leagues. If a manager in your keeper league is becoming frustrated with the 21-year-old, do what you can to acquire him. His best days are well ahead of him.
