Cooper Kupp, the star wideout for the Los Angeles Rams, injured his ankle in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals. This injury was extraordinarily upsetting for Kupp's fantasy managers, as he looked as healthy as he had in years before getting hurt.
Kupp has dealt with many injuries over the past few seasons but has also been able to uphold his status as an elite fantasy wide receiver when he can play. Lots of news has been released surrounding Kupp and this particular injury, so fantasy managers have a lot to read to stay in the loop.
So, when is Kupp coming back? What is his fantasy football outlook when he returns? Let's see.

Cooper Kupp Injury Update for Fantasy Football
When Kupp first got hurt, there was speculation that the injury was very serious and that he would likely have to be placed on IR. Thankfully, the injury was not as severe as originally thought, and he was able to avoid that designation.
On Monday, Rams head coach Sean McVay said Kupp will miss the team’s Week 5 contest against the Green Bay Packers. This news hardly came as a shock, but it is good to know that Kupp is closer to returning than having his recovery regress.

The Rams have their bye week coming in Week 6, and according to ESPN, there is reason to believe that Kupp will be good to go shortly after that. He could return to game action as soon as Week 7.
Cooper Kupp Fantasy Football Outlook
When healthy, Kupp is one of the best wide receivers in all of fantasy football. In his last full season of play (2021), he finished as the overall WR1 and broke the record for receptions (145) and receiving yards (1,947) in a single season.
In his first game of the 2024 season, he was excellent, accumulating 32 fantasy points (PPR) and finishing as the overall WR2. Performances like that should be in store for Kupp once he is healthy and returns.

It is also worth noting that the Rams’ other star receiver, Puka Nacua (knee), is out indefinitely, so Kupp will slot right back into the WR1 position with minimal competition when he comes back.
