Carolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) has now been out of commission for eight weeks since injuring his hamstring in his team's third game of the season. It was shaping up to be his best, as he had caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown before exiting the contest.
He's now 34 years old, so there were some doubts that he'd return at all, but it seems that he'll play again this season. It hasn't been the most impactful injury situation for fantasy football, but in deeper leagues, any edge you can get is important.
So when will Thielen return to play?

Adam Thielen Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Reports indicate he'll be good to go for Week 12. Thielen himself stated in an interview that he expects to be ready to play when his team takes on the Kansas City Chiefs this coming Sunday. Whether he'll be back to 100% remains to be seen, but there's reason for optimism.

Teams have been taking a cautious approach toward hamstring issues this season, likely due to the ease with which hammy issues can be re-aggravated. There's tons of literature and decades of evidence of this. Even this season, wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) tried to play through a hamstring issue and swiftly reinjured it.
Adam Thielen Fantasy Football Outlook
He could see a decent amount of targets from quarterback Bryce Young, but given his age and injury issues this season, it's good to temper expectations.
Adam Thielen (WR for CAR)
Expected to be nearing his return from injury
137 targets, 103 receptions, 1,014 receiving yards and 13.6 (#25) Fantasy PPG w/ Bryce Young last year
Thielen could return to a big role rest of season w/ Diontae Johnson gone
— Skrip (@P2WFantasy) November 19, 2024
His role will be crucial. Carolina traded away their No. 1 receiver, Diontae Johnson, meaning that Thielen will now compete with rookies Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker for targets. These three will make up the starting corps of wideouts, and No. 19 has far more experience than the other two combined, obviously.
He's been a reliable pass-catcher for Young in the past, and he has a solid shot at taking on the WR1 role. That typically has value for fantasy, even in bad offenses.
