New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles back in Week 1. That's an injury that would normally end a player's season, but could we see Rodgers again in 2023?
The veteran quarterback has reportedly progressed quickly in his recovery.
When is Rodgers returning? What is his fantasy football outlook when he returns? Let's dive in.

Is Aaron Rodgers Coming Back in Week 10?
Let's get this out of the way first. Aaron Rodgers will not be playing against the Raiders on Sunday Night Football in Week 10. The Jets will turn to Zach Wilson once again.
Normally, this wouldn't even be a question for a QB who tore his Achilles in Week 1, but there have been a lot of reports that Rodgers is progressing through this injury abnormally fast. This is usually a recovery process that takes nine or more months, but Rodgers is already throwing the football in pregame.
While he won't play this Sunday, it sounds like we can't rule out the possibility that Rodgers suits up at some point during the 2023 season.
Aaron Rodgers Injury Update and Fantasy Outlook
Even with Rodgers progressing well, the chances of him playing again this year are likely lower than the chances of him sitting out the rest of the year. The Jets won't play him unless they're sure he's good to go. It'd be unprecedented to see Rodgers back on the field.
Don't rule it out, but temper expectations. The Jets will need to be in playoff contention and Rodgers will need to be cleared to return for him to see the field. Even if that happens, there's simply too much risk for fantasy managers to rely on Rodgers, as he'd likely return during the fantasy playoffs.
The more likely scenario here is that Rodgers is a full-go for the 2024 NFL season, but it's unclear what his fantasy outlook will be since there are so many questions to answer between now and the 2024 season.
