Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown has been a great fantasy football asset dating back to his time with the Tennessee Titans, but ever since being traded to Philly, he's arguably been elite. The 2019 second-round pick started off the 2024 campaign with a bang, but unfortunately, he has not played since.
Following a practice injury leading up to the Week 2 game against the Atlanta Falcons, Brown has been sidelined. Fantasy managers are surely wondering when he will return.
When is Brown coming back, and what is his fantasy football outlook when he suits up? Let's dive in.

A.J. Brown Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Brown (hamstring) did not practice at all leading up to Week 3, but he returned for a limited session on Friday before the Week 4 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he was ruled out when official game designations were due on Friday afternoon, so it doesn't seem like he was close to suiting up.

The Eagles are on a bye in Week 5, so the organization likely wanted to give him another game off before the extended break. The Eagles play the Cleveland Browns in Week 6, and it will have been roughly a month since Brown last stepped on the game field. Considering he returned to limited practice last week, it would be a surprise if he can't play in Week 6, barring an injury setback.
A.J. Brown Fantasy Football Outlook
When Brown returns, he'll regain his overall WR1 upside, and he'll be a must-start option in all matchups. Fellow star wideout DeVonta Smith (concussion) should also be back by Week 6, but Brown has posted two consecutive WR1 seasons while sharing the field with the Slim Reaper.
Jalen Hurts looks to be struggling this year, but getting back his pair of key receivers will surely help him get back on track. If the fantasy manager in your league with Brown is getting impatient, it might be a good time to send a trade offer.
