Friday, February 9
The first team to open up the pitchers and catchers portion of their camp was none other than the headline-grabbing Los Angeles Dodgers.
Indeed, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the remainder of the club's new-look rotation is already in camp while the Dodgers retained some key bullpen pieces this winter, as well. Oh, and they gave Shohei Ohtani $700 million this offseason, much of which will be paid once the two-way star hangs up his cleats.
The Dodgers' first full-squad workout will take place on Wednesday, February 14.
Sunday, February 11
Another NL West club opened their doors early this spring as the San Diego Padres are already underway. San Diego was also busy this winter, trading superstar Juan Soto and all-world closer Josh Hader in separate deals. The club's starting pitching remains a question mark as 2023 NL Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell continues to linger on the open market.
The Padres' first full-squad workout is on Friday, February 16.
Wednesday, February 14
Eight Cactus League clubs have pitchers and catchers reporting on Wednesday, February 14. These clubs include the D-backs, Cubs, White Sox, Reds, Royals, Angels, A's, and defending champion Rangers.
Another 10 Grapefruit League clubs open up on this day. The Red Sox, Tigers, Astros, Twins, Mets, Phillies, Pirates, Cardinals, Rays, and Nationals kick off their spring camps on humpday.
Thursday, February 15
The final reporting day for pitchers and catchers in 2024 is Thursday, February 15.
Five Cactus League clubs open on this day as the Guardians, Rockies, Brewers, Giants, and Mariners all get started in Arizona.
The Grapefruit League has five clubs of its own opening up on Wednesday as the Braves, Orioles, Marlins, Yankees, and Blue Jays open up spring action in Florida.
