This year's Super Bowl is a rematch for the two teams who met four years ago in Super Bowl LIV, a game that the Chiefs won to kick off the Patrick Mahomes dynasty era. Kansas City has won two Super Bowls since 2020 and this will mark the team's fourth Super Bowl appearance in that timeframe.
While the San Francisco 49ers haven't won a Super Bowl title since 1995, they are certainly no stranger to football's biggest stage. After building a dynasty in the 1980s that ran into the 1990s, the Jim Harbaugh-led Niners made a Super Bowl appearance in 2013. Current Head Coach Kyle Shanahan has also found loads of success in the Bay and this will mark the organization's second Super Bowl appearance during his tenure.
