Week 9 Stream Team - Shallow and Deep-League Pickups

Kipp Heisterman picks his Streamer Teams for Week 9 of the 2020 NFL season. These fantasy football free agents could be valuable streamers and waiver wire pickups or adds for both deep and shallow leagues.

Welcome to Week 9 of the NFL season. Each week we will be providing streamer advice for all of those who need it, which is pretty much anyone and everyone. Streaming players with the best matchups each week as well as during your stud's bye weeks is an integral part of winning a fantasy championship and we are here to provide the best choices week in and week out.

Each week in this article, we will break down streamers for both shallower leagues of 8-10 teams (around 50% rostered or less) and deeper leagues of 14 or more teams (around 30% rostered or less). We will provide a specific roster in each type of league, which will include a QB, RB, WR, TE, and Flex. It should also be noted that if you play in a deep league, but a shallow-league player mentioned here is available in your league, feel free to stream them as

Everything seemed to go off pretty well last week and we did not have any games recommended here canceled, but Week 9 is not starting so smoothly as the Packer and 49ers both have situations arising as do the Texans. While none of those teams' players are mentioned here, let's hope the rest of Week 9 goes off without a hitch. Here are some of the best options for this week.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Stream Team for Shallow Leagues (<50% Rostered)

Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders

41% Rostered

Carr gets a solid matchup vs. the Chargers in a game with an expected total of 53. The Chargers have allowed 22.41 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position over the previous four weeks, which ranks seventh-worst in the league. Carr was also coming off three consecutive 275-yard plus passing games before running into the wind in Cleveland. Look for him to get back on track in this one.

Damien Harris, New England Patriots

51% Rostered

Harris worked in this spot last week and I am going to go right back to him at still only 51% rostered. The Patriots enter this game vs. the Jets as seven-point favorites, which means they should be able to lean on the run in order the preserve their lead. Harris has 26 carries in his last two games and will be going up against a Jets Defense that has allowed over 22 points per game to running backs over the previous four weeks. They have also allowed production to backs through the air as they have given up 25 receptions across that same span.

Marvin Jones Jr., Detroit Lions

54% Rostered

Jones is not someone I would normally recommend as he has been on a milk carton most of the season, but he is in a great spot this week vs. the Vikings for a couple of reasons. First, Kenny Golladay will be out of this one, which means Jones gets to step in as the likely top target. Last week, Jones had his second-highest targeted game (seven targets) with Golloaday out for most of it. He will also be facing a Vikings' secondary that has given up the fifth-most fantasy points to wide receivers over the previous four weeks. They have allowed an average of 178 receiving yards and also have given up eight touchdowns in that same span.

Eric Ebron, Pittsburgh Steelers

49% Rostered

The Cowboys have been stronger vs. the tight end in recent weeks, but this comes down to a volume play in this spot for Ebron. He has seen 13 targets in the previous two weeks and has managed to turn those targets into 10 receptions for 98 receiving yards and a score. The Cowboys also have not played many teams with a strong tight end presence in the previous four weeks, so their stats against the position are a bit misleading.

Cole Beasley, Buffalo Bills

57% Rostered

If Beasley is available in your league, now is the time to stream him. He was in this piece last week and promptly let us down, but now he gets a matchup vs. one of the worst defenses in the league. Seattle is allowing nearly 48 fantasy points per game to wide receivers over the previous four weeks. This game could be a shootout with a total near 55 and two very strong offenses going at each other. There should be plenty of volume in the passing game for Beasley to return value here.

Stream Team for Deep Leagues (<30% Rostered)

Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings

28% Rostered

Cousins gets a matchup vs. a porous Lions Defense in a game that has a high total of 52.5. The Lions have given up an average of 19.31 fantasy points per game to the quarterback position and have allowed five passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown to the position across the previous four weeks. The Vikings secondary is also in shambles, which means the Lions should be able to put up some points and force the Vikings to have to throw to score in this game.

Deejay Dallas, Seattle Seahawks

27% Rostered

This is a play only if Chris Carson misses the game due to his foot injury. Dallas got the start last week vs. the 49ers and did not disappoint as he had 18 carries for 41 yards and a score and added work in the passing game with five receptions for 17 yards and a score. The Bills have allowed backs to score nearly 26 fantasy points per game over the previous four weeks, which ranks ninth-worst in the league. They are also allowing 4.8 yards per carry over the same span, so Dallas will definitely be in play here. If Carson does suit up, look at using Matt Breida (Update: IF healthy) at Arizona as he is roughly 24% rostered and should get the lions-share of work with Myles Gaskin out.

Darnell Mooney, Chicago Bears

7% Rostered

Fire up the Mooney Money Train this week. Is that a thing? Probably not, but let's roll with it. Mooney has seen at least five targets in every game this season since Week 3 and is getting a solid matchup this week vs. the Titans. The Titans are allowing the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers over the previous four weeks by allowing over 53 points per game. They have given up 852 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in this span as well. Mooney and Allen Robinson should both be in for huge days in this one.

Trey Burton, Indianapolis Colts

22% Rostered

Burton has seen an average of five targets per game since returning from injury in Week 4. He gets a matchup vs. a Ravens Defense that has allowed an average of over 13 fantasy points per game to tight ends across the previous four weeks, which ranks 11th-worst in the league. Burton has also shown a bit of versatility this season as he has been used in various formations and even scored a touchdown out of the wildcat formation vs. the Bengals in Week 6, so he makes for a solid streamer in deeper leagues this week.

Tim Patrick, Denver Broncos

19% Rostered

Patrick has started to become a staple here, which means not many people are catching on to him. He needs to be monitored leading up to his Week 9 matchup at the Falcons, but if healthy, he makes for a great streaming choice. The Falcons are allowing nearly 47 points per game to wide receivers over the previous four weeks, which ranks them seventh-worst in the league. The Broncos are also 3.5-point underdogs in this game and will be facing a high-powered Falcons' offense that can score almost at will, which means Denver could be throwing a lot and that certainly will bode well for Patrick who has seen nearly six targets per game this season.
