Week 7 Tight Ends - Rankings & Matchups Analysis
Guess who's back? Back again? Gronk is back. Tell a friend.
Travis Kelce has been somewhat underwhelming in 2016, but I tell ya what--he's busting out this week. The Saints have been ravaged by tight ends this season (and every other skill player) and Kelce is the second-most targeted player on the Chiefs. Add that up and you have a formula for fantasy success.
I'm not sold on Hunter Henry. Antonio Gates is supposedly back to 100%, and there is no denying the bromance between him and Philip Rivers, especially near the end zone. Henry has of course been impressive thus far, but if Gates is back at full capacity I don't love either tight end this week--they both have a pretty solid floor but almost no upside.
Love me some Jack Doyle this week. When Dwayne Allen left early in the Colts' Week 6 matchup, Doyle took over as the primary tight end and didn't disappoint, posting 53 yards and a touchdown on four catches. Allen will be out yet again, and with T.Y. Hilton also dealing with a minor injury it could be Doyle's time to shine.
Charles Clay should have a really nice game against the Dolphins, mostly because the Bills will likely be without top target Robert Woods and may be without LeSean McCoy, who catches a lot of quick hitters. Clay had five catches in each of his last three games, and he has a great floor with plenty of upside this week as the top target in the end zone.
