Week 3 FLEX Outlooks for Fantasy Football
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle Seahawks - Fantasy Football Outlook
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba should be a solid fantasy asset in Week 3. His huge breakout game in Week 2 inspires confidence that this new Seahawks regime is committed to getting him the ball.
While one week should not fully change your opinion on Smith-Njigba, his 16 targets to Tyler Lockett's two is encouraging moving forward. Outside of cornerback Jalen Ramsey, the Dolphins do not have a scary secondary. If the Seahawks even give Smith-Njigba half the volume he had in Week 2 then he will be a solid start.
- Quincy Milton III, RotoBaller
Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints - Fantasy Football Outlook
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed is off to the start that everyone was expecting for teammate Chris Olave. Through the first two games of the season, Shaheed has seven catches for 169 yards and two touchdowns and is leading the league in both yards per route run and fantasy points per route run.
In Week 3, the Saints face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in what is expected to be a shootout. The Eagles allowed a touchdown to two different wide receivers in both of their games to start the season and last week teammates Drake London and Darnell Mooney both scored more than 17 fantasy points.
Even though Olave is at the top of New Orleans' depth chart, Shaheed will still eat against a vulnerable secondary. He has thrived against zone coverage so far, which the Eagles use a majority of the time. Plug Shaheed in as a WR3/flex option on Sunday.
- Dan Stephens, RotoBaller
J.K. Dobbins, Los Angeles Chargers - Fantasy Football Outlook
Los Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins is set for another strong performance in a Week 3 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is the overall fantasy RB4 through the first two weeks of the season, and several statistics show that it's not just a fluke.
Dobbins ranks first in the NFL in explosive run rate and missed tackles forced per attempt. He's 12th in the league in yards after contact, and the Chargers offensive line has been excellent in opening up running lanes, with the Chargers offense tops in the league in yards before contact in the running game.
Pittsburgh's defense is solid overall but has been average against running backs through the first two weeks of the season. Dobbins is a high-end RB2 with clear upside.
- David A. Marcillo, RotoBaller
