Week 18 Quarterback Outlooks for Fantasy Football
Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers - Fantasy Football Outlook
Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales said quarterback Bryce Young and the team's other starters will play in Week 18 against the division-rival Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. The Falcon's defense has allowed the sixth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in 2024.
Young has been playing better lately, producing 17-plus fantasy points in four of his last six contests. With Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard (calf, knee) done for the season, this should allow Young to get more volume as a passer.
In addition, the Panthers have nothing to lose on Sunday, so fantasy managers can expect the Panthers offense to leave no stone unturned to help identify the future of this Panthers offense. Young will be a borderline QB1 option for fantasy managers in Week 18 and comes in as QB14 in the latest RotoBaller quarterback rankings this week.

Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons - Fantasy Football Outlook
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. just needs to take care of the football -- and get some help from the Saints -- in order to send his team to the playoffs. The 24-year-old is 37-for-62 (59.7%) in his two games as starter, with two touchdowns and one interception (that was not his fault).
But with a strong ground game that rushed for 200 yards and three scores the last time Atlanta faced Carolina in October, Penix Jr. should be handing the ball off much more than he should be passing it. Not that the Panthers can stop the passing attack, allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing QBs including five TDs last week to Baker Mayfield and even three TDs to Cooper Rush in Week 15.
With the friendly matchup and some likely volatility at the QB position in the final week of the regular season with some starters sitting or seeing only limited playing time, the former first-round draft pick sets up as a high-end QB2 on Sunday.

Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers- Fantasy Football Outlook
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is potentially a strong fantasy option in Week 18 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chargers will either be locked into the No. 6 seed or have a chance at the No. 5 seed in the final game of the regular season, depending on the results of Saturday's games.
If the Bolts have a chance to better their playoff position, Herbert will certainly play and should be a top-10 option at the position against a Raiders defense with nothing to play for. However, fantasy managers should have a backup option available, as Herbert and other Chargers starters could sit out if the team is locked into the sixth seed, which would give the start to backup quarterback Taylor Heinicke.
Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said he'd "do what's best for the team" when asked about whether starters would play.
